• optional: 12 inch long and 1 inch tall piece of wood or something softer than metal for lifting the rack while adjusting the U bolt mounts
1) Install first front U bolt mount
• 1. Measure 11.5 inches from the end of plastic on stock bars (right in photo) to the center of U bolt mounts to-be
• 2. Place the rubber strip as shown, centered at the above measured distance
• 3. Place the U bolt housing while moring the rubber strip so that the bottom of the stock bar is fully covered (the ends of the rubber strips will be near the top)
•4. Turn the U bolt housing to point upwards
2) Install the U bolt
• 1. turn the U bolt housing sideways
• install the U bolt into the housing either by
• 2. sliding in the U bolt (and using a rubber hammer to get past the threads) or
• 3. loosely putting the end of U bolt in on one side, and snapping in the other side. Make sure to use thicker gloves or you will pinch your skin
3) U bolt adjustment
• Turn housing with U bolt so that the threads point upwards, but only a few threads clear the plastic -- push all the way up only at the end of install in step 6)
4) Install first rear U bolt mount
• Measure 8 inches from end of plastic on stock bars (left) to the center of U bolt mounts to-be
5) Install the remaining 2 U bolts and mounts
• Only a few thred should clear the plastic
6) Place Rack on top
• place the roof rack on top of the U bolt mounts
• adjust the mounts as needed
• when you can see the U bolts through all 8 U bolt rack holes, push up the U bolts through the rack holes
