This is for 4 wheel drive -- it is longer than for 4x2 Xterra (2 wheel drive)
Made from 3/16 thick aluminum
Front bolts are shared with Engine/Transmission skid plate and fasten in the provided brackets
Transfer Case - front view
View from the front
2 brackets (inside of the cross member of the frame) hold 2 bolts each
Those 2 brackets are shared with Engine skid plate -- see Frame Brackets
Transfer Case - rear view
View from the rear
2 bolts - each held by a 1.5 inch square plate with a welded nut in the center
Those bolts go through the round holes in the cross member, with a small plate on top
You can see a temp bracket with word Yes showing in same spot as the 1.5 inch square plates will be -- this avoids you drilling the frame and the bolts will hold better than screws would
It is always a stronger hold to go around, not through
The small hole on the right is where you should optionally (recommended) drill a 1/8 inch hole and use the included self tapping screw
While these 2 bolts hold the skid plate, this third screw would avoid future rattle
* Closeup of square bracket on top
There is a welded nut on this bracket
2 bolts mount like this
Third is a self tapping screw going into the frame's cross member
