Slim Roof Rack - drop in roof rack #2 laying low

Tools needed

• 9/16 wrench
• included 9/16 crow foot
• ratchet and 10 inch extension for ratchet
• optional: second patient person if available
• optional: 12 inch long and 1 inch tall piece of wood or something softer than metal for lifting the rack while adjusting the U bolt mounts

Similar to Lowrider install

• The install is similar to Lowrider install, however it's more of a 10-15 minute install instead of 5 minutes
• The U bolts point inwards and require the use of the included crow foot for the 4 lower nuts

Install

• Place a blanket on top of the roof, then lay the roof rack on top
• place the U bolt mounts around the stock Xterra 2 inch tubing, inserting the rubber padding around the stock tubing
• You will need to use the included crow foot on a 10 inch extension on a ratchet to tighten the bottom nuts
• Tighten the upper bolts slightly, then switch to bottom ones, tighten them barely as well
• Repeat for all 4 corners
• Tighten the bottom 4 nuts more, but not completely, then match with upper nuts
• Finally fully tighten the bottom nuts first, only then the top ones
